Black Sesame Soup
This is one of my favorite variants of tong sui aka sugar water. It's super easy to make and super delicious. I mean, how could it not be?
Ingredients
This is enough for one generous serving or two smol servings
- 15g black sesame powder
- 13g glutinous rice flours
- 12g sugar
- 1/6 cup water
Methodology
Combine the black sesame powder and glutinous rice powder.
Toss it onto a dry heated skillet to toast. I feel like this adds some depth to the flavor.
Tranfer the toasted powders to a bowl.
Add boiling water and sugar. Mix.
Results
Wow, easypeasy.
If you like this soup, a recommendation is to toast a big batch of the powder and store it in a container, so when the craving hits, you can just spoon some into a bowl and add boiling water and sugar.
It also scales well for any events. :P
